Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Σπονδύλου – World Spine Day

The world spine day (WSD) is an annual day coordinated by the World Federation of Chiropractic in order to raise awareness of the current worldwide estimate of 540 million people suffering from musculoskeletal conditions and pain. This awareness day has been organized every year since 2008 and this has been inspired by the Global Alliance for Musculoskeletal Health: Bone and Joint decade 2000-2010. Ever since, a number of global events have been organized in an attempt to raise awareness and educate the public on MSK issues (related to bone, joints and nerves).

The WSD highlights ways to incorporate healthy spinal habits in everyday life, especially in children who are the future of our society. To celebrate the World Spine Day we encourage youngsters and adults to adopt daily habits that can increase physical movement in general. Here is a 3 minute spinal mobility exercise plan that can be used both at school and at work. Spinal stretches do not have to be boring and can actually be fun if we all participate and make it a game! Especially in growing children particular emphasis is placed on 1. Good posture, 2. Improve physical condition and 3. Consistent MSK checks to ensure optimal motion and function of all joints muscles and
nerves.

For more individualized questions and concerns please contact your Doctor of Chiropractic who can help explain and answer your questions.
